Robert Luketic to Helm EXPENDABELLES

We heard  murmurs of a female-fronted "Expendables" film for quite some time now. That franchise has made a lot of money and has given old action stars a platform, so why not give their female counterparts the same chance? Now director Robert Luketic has stepped up to helm the production titled "The ExpendaBelles" and now some new details on the production have surfaced.

According to Millennium Films, "The Expendables universe has a new team. An elite group of highly trained female mercenaries are brought together for a covert hostage rescue mission. Once they are behind enemy lines, the women discover that they will also need to topple an evil dictator bent on world domination. It becomes clear there there is no such thing as the right man for the job. The Expendabelles is the ultimate story of female empowerment and kick-ass teamwork."

Luketic is re-teaming with Kristen Smith and Karen McCullah, who penned his "Legally Blonde". Sylvester Stallone, who has been championing the original testosterone-fronted franchise, is producing the film alongside Kevin King.

It would have been cool to get a female director to helm the female-fronted film, which also boasts female writers. But I'm sure Luketic will do a solid job.

The next and most pressing question is obviously, who will star? Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich have reportedly already been approached. Other names of action starlets could include Angelina Jolie, Gemma Arterton, Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Gardner, Kate Beckinsale, Michelle Rodriguez, Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Maggie Q, Carrie-Anne Moss and countless others. It was reported that Gina Carano was the first official lady to be locked for the film, but there hasn't been word on that since. She seems like an obvious and great fit though, clearly.

I'm all about giving badass females their own movie but I mean, can they not do any better with that ridiculous title?

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.

Magic and "The Social Network" shouldn't be in the same sentence. It was an awful movie for what has become "The Hateful Network". It's the beginning of the end for FB.
