Warner Bros Moves Ahead with Developing THE LEGO MOVIE Sequel

By Amirose Eisenbach February 5, 2014

Opening on Friday in AMC Theatres everywhere is "The Lego Movie". The film has been receiving rave reviews and is still holding strong at a rare 100% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Wasting no time, it's being reported that Warner Bros. has decided to move ahead and develop a sequel.

WB has hired "The Internship" and "The Watch" writer Jared Stern to pen the script. The first film was written by Dan and Kevin Hageman ("Hotel Transylvania") and the directors of the film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller. There is no word yet on whether the dynamic duo of Lord and Miller will return to helm the sequel, but I would imagine it's a great possibility given the early success of the film.

Lord and Miller are best known for directing "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "21 Jump Street". The comedic gem starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill took audiences by storm and the duo is now in post-production after helming the sequel. They are certainly in their artistic stride, I can't wait to see why the pair does next.
