David Fincher Wants Christian Bale to Play Steve Jobs

By Amirose Eisenbach March 22, 2014

We've been hearing about the other Steve Jobs project written by "The Social Network" scribe Aaron Sorkin for some time now. The incredible David Fincher was approached to direct but now the unique helmer has set a rather large stipulation before signing on; Christian Bale must play Jobs.

Bale has established himself as one of the most talented actors of our generation, so there's no question he would do the tech-genius justice. The only problem? He reportedly hasn't been approached yet.

Fincher is known for such gems as "The Fight Club", of course "The Social Network", and the upcoming book-adaptation "Gone Girl", starring Ben Affleck. He has such a distinctive style and always sets such an interesting tone and this project would definitely be a different one for him to tackle.

The Sorkin script is said to highlight Jobs during three different important phases and tech launches of his life. Bale is no stranger to undergoing physically transformative roles, as seen in "The Fighter" and "The Machinist". Add his stellar performances, to the talent of Fincher and Sorkin teaming up again, and you certainly have a recipe for success and a hot project on your hands.
