Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Confirms Involvement in D.C. Universe

Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson has confirmed his participation in an upcoming D.C. project. He has hinted but not revealed who he will be playing however, laying out the three core elements that the character needed.

According to Johnson, "The first quality we were looking for is that he had to be extremely complex and have a lot going on and what that does for me as an actor and for the studio, just gives us space that we can explore his complexities. The other quality is that the character we were looking for had to be well known but never brought to life. That does, again as an actor, is that it gives me a little bit of space and it just gives me a chance to put an imprint into his personality with the set of tools that I can bring to the table and put a very unique twist on his personality but still pay homage to who he is. The third thing and most important is that he had to be a badass mother***ker and on a Superman level of power where he could throw down."

Johnson has obviously given this much thought, as that is a very detailed description. Many fans are speculating who the character could be. Based off the above, Lobo, Doomsday, Martian Manhunter, Black Adam, and Green Lantern seem to the the frontrunners.

Apparently the character has been found, but Johnson is going to keep teasing and having fun with his audience. He continued, "In those three qualities, I'm happy we've found that character and right now we're out to a lot of writers."

The twitter-sphere and internet obviously went wild with this news and The Rock directly responded to a fan asking if it was the Green Lantern that he was playing. He responded, "Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Black Adam are my fav superheroes, but GL's already been made and stamped."

Ryan Reynolds played Hal Jordan and not John Stewart in "Green Lantern" film, despite Johnson kind of nixing that. Or was that just a clever form of misdirection? So many questions still intact but I would imagine we'll hear more on this front soon.

Out of all the possibilities, who would you like to see The Rock play? Let us know in the comments section below!
