We'll never forget how child star Tye Sheridan completely captivated audiences and held his own against Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey in "Mud". The indie received a lot of critical acclaim and showcased the amazing range of the young actor. Now Sheridan is set to star in the lead role of the upcoming film "Scouts Vs. Zombies".
The horror comedy is being directed by "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones" helmer Christopher Landon. The story follows three high school Boy Scouts who must fight off zombies after their town is being taken over by them. Based off the few details we have, it sounds like a coming-of-age tale mixed with elements of "Shaun of the Dead", ""Lord of the Flies" and "Zombieland".
The script was originally penned by "College Road Trip" scribes Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki and has since been given a rewrite from Lona Williams ("Drop Dead Gorgeous") and Etan Coehn ("Tropic Thunder").
