Chris Pine's last leading role in "Jack Ryan" based on Tom Clancy's character didn't open to very impressive results. Films like "Star Trek" and "People Like Us" definitely have shown us the actor has talent however, despite the one disappointment. Now comes word of Pine's next potential project, "The Finest Hours".
The film is adapted from Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias' book, which chronicles the real-life dramatic story of two oil tankers who get caught in a horrific storm off the New England Coast. The ship is split in two and the coast guard was called in to attempt to rescue the crew, which were thrown into the treacherous sea. While it hasn't been specified, it's believed that Pine will play one of the Guard crew if locked.
"Fright Night" helmer Craig Gillespie is now in talks to direct the picture after Robert Schwentke departed the production.
