No one doubts that in the cinematic world, that Mark Strong can portray a bad guy like nobody's business. His commanding presence, amazing acting chops and mysterious eyes, enable him to play these tough-as-nails characters extremely well. But as fun as it is to portray the villain, I would imagine that too can become a little tiresome. Exploring the comedy genre seems like quite a departure from his last set of films and that's exactly what Strong is going to do next.
The project is called "Grimsby", which is an action comedy about a black ops agent who must go on the run with his long-lost brother, played by comedic genius Sacha Baron Cohen. Strong will play the ops agent and Cohen's character is a troublemaker and soccer player.
Louis Leterrier is helming the film, who just came off the fun magic-heist thriller "Now You See Me". He also directed "The Incredible Hulk", so he's certainly exploring a bunch of different genres, which has got to be fun and challenging for a director.
Pairing Cohen and Strong together seems so odd that it's perfect. While Strong has been a bit typecast as being a great baddie, I have no doubt that his British charm and great facial expressions will translate really well for this project, especially with Cohen by his side.
