Production has officially picked back up as of yesterday for James Wan's "Fast and Furious 7". This is following a four month pause after the tragic death of star Paul Walker. Wan and team were figuring out the most graceful course of action to finish his scenes. The result was hiring several body doubles and CGI to make the transition as smooth as possible.
To confirm the production was back in full swing, Wan shared a placard from set with the caption, "First day back filming. Better and stronger".
Writer Chris Morgan went in to revise the script to retire Walker's Brian O'Connor character rather than be killed off. It's certainly a delicate situation and I'm just glad they will be able to honor the hard work Walker had already completed on the film.
Stars including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Lucacris will return to film in Abu Dhabi. I'm sure the energy on set is going to be very different without Walker. But these actors have worked for years with him and undoubtedly want to make something great and honor their friend.
