The fifth film in the franchise, which is being called "Terminator: Genesis", is now officially in production in New Orleans. This little tidbit was revealed on the SkyDance Productions twitter handle, which posted the film's slate.

Alan Taylor, who is no stranger to bringing rich and complicated worlds to life, as seen in "Thor: The Dark World" and HBO's "Game of Thrones", is helming the film. He seems like a great fit to hopefully erase McG's "Terminator: Salvation" from our minds and give us something more along the lines of "T2". That hope has already been teased by the former Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also included in this picture.

HBO "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke is set to play Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke ("Zero Dark Thirty") is John Connor and Jai Courtney ("Divergent") will portray Kyle Reese. New cast additions also include the wonderful J.K. Simmons ("Spider-Man"), Byng-hun Lee ("G.I. Joe: Retaliation"), Dayao Okeniyi ("The Hunger Games") and Sandrine Holt ("House of Cards").

In addition to the production slate, the following message accompanied the tweet: "20140421 ::SKYNET preparation routines complete. ::Initialization sequence complete. ::Reboot initiating in 03m00s."
