Zac Efron has had a couple bumps in the road recently with addiction and troublemaking but the guy has definitely got some talent that he has only touched the surface of. When a career needs a shake up, you must choose your next project very carefully, and now comes word of his next one.
Based on John Grisham's thriller "The Associate", Efron is set to star in and co-produce a new adaptation of the story. Efron will play a Yale Law School grad who is blackmailed into working at the world's largest firm, in order to spy on two powerful and rich defense contractors.
This story definitely sounds like what "Paranoia" starring Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman was trying to achieve but failed. After all, Grisham knows how to create incredible characters.
Efron was last seen in "That Awkward Moment" opposite Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan. He has charm and definitely some solid acting chops. Hopefully he is headed in the direction of being back on the right track.
