Coming off the heat of his Oscar-winning "Gravity", word of director Alfonso Curaron's next potential project has surfaced. He may be heading back into the world of wizards and witches to direct J.K. Rowling's upcoming project "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

After raising the bar cinematically with the gorgeous Sandra Bullock-starring space adventure, the director has never been in higher demand. His interest in this one definitely infers that the story is going to be incredible. Cuaron previously directed what most consider the best film within the "Harry Potter" franchise, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".

This film will also mark Rowling's screenwriting debut as she is adapting from her own novel for the big-screen. The story is said to specifically follow Newt Scamander, who devotes his career to the pursuit of magical creatures. No Harry, Hermione or Ron will be in this one, so it will be interesting to see what new characters will win our hearts this time around.

Cuaron is amazing at marrying beautiful visuals with special character moments. It will be cool to not only have the consistency factor with him returning to this addendum of the franchise, but to also have him utilize the new gifts in technology he has become such a master at.
