As if we didn't have enough reasons to be excited for J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII". Now the director have given us another big one, or several in fact. Abrams released a video this morning from on set in Abu Dhabi offering fans a chance to win a cameo in the upcoming film.
As if the dream of being in a "Star Wars" film wasn't enough, the contest is part of a charity effort called "Force for Change". Each donation will fund UNICEF's Innovation Labs, which helps children around the world. Fans that donate a minimum of $10 will be entered to win a trip to the shoot in London to partake in the magical cameo. If you aren't the lucky big winner, there are still plenty of other goodies like shirts and posters from the film that come with your donation.
It's stuff like this that really warms my heart. People like Abrams using their network and status to do something big and amazing for humanity is so refreshing. As if the world wasn't already watching the production of "Star Wars: Episode VII" closely. Now being a part of the effort is not only exciting since we get another amazing installment of our favorite galaxy far, far away. But, we also have the potential to make a big difference as well.
