A release date of November 18th, 2016 has been set for J.K. Rowling's expansion of the Harry Potter universe with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". This is following on the hot heels of the last film "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2", which was released in 2011 and racked up a colossal $1.3 billion worldwide.

The new series will reunite us with the marvelous world of witches and wizards, and is said to be inspired by Harry's Hogwarts textbook, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

This film will also mark Rowling's screenwriting debut as she is adapting from her own novel for the big-screen. The series will feature many characters we will recognize from the original films, as well as introduce us to many new and undoubtedly colorful ones. The story is said to specifically follow Newt Scamander, who devotes his career to the pursuit of magical creatures.

If Rowling is excited to dive back into this incredibly rich world, then chances are higher that the same kind of magic from the original series will be felt in this continuation. It will be interesting to see how the new main protagonists will take over for Harry, Hermione, Ron and the gang. Hopefully the fans gravitate towards them with similar adoration, so they can build a new, exciting trilogy around them.
