Robert De Niro is set to star alongside Robert Pattinson in "Idol's Eye". The details are being kept very much under wraps by its director Olivier Assayas but it's being described as a sophisticated heist action-thriller.
The two seem like an unlikely pairing which is why it may work. De Niro has done a solid job at taking his career back after starring in several questionable films. He was fantastic in David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook", as well as his small but great role in "American Hustle".
After wrapping "The Twilight Saga", Pattinson has wasted no time in trying to break away from the teenybopper persona. Jumping into several indie projects, he will next been seen in David Cronenberg's "Maps to the Stars", which premiered at Cannes. He will also be seen in "The Rover" and several upcoming dramas including "Queen of the Desert" and "Life".
Assayas is perhaps best known for "Paris, je t'aime" and his upcoming "Clouds of Sils Maria" stars Pattinson's "Twilight" co-star, Kristen Stewart.
