The Coen Brothers have been captivating audiences for years, creating unique and quirky characters and incredibly memorable situations. They have brought us such gems as "Raising Arizona", "No Country for Old Men" and "True Grit", to name just a few. Now a project that surfaced as a potential one for them years ago, is back on the table.
Titled "Hail Caesar", the story takes places in the 1950s in Hollywood and revolves around a fixer named Eddie Mannix. Mannix is hired by studios hoping to keep the reputation of their contracted celebrities clean in the public's eye. Times have certainly changed as all scandals these days revolving around stars, are exposed and milked to their fullest. Of course there are still many situations we will never hear about that are covered up by publicists, agents and so on, but the game has definitely altered.
George Clooney was rumored to be up for the lead a while back but there has been no confirmation on that front. Clooney is a Coen Brothers' regular, having starred in "Intolerable Cruelty", "Burn After Reading" and of course, one of the best roles in his career, "O Brother Where Art Thou?"
The premise certainly sounds interesting and different for the duo to take on. I'm generally interested in anything they dabble with and look forward to seeing how this one progresses.
