We heard about the makings of a reboot to the 1980s classic "Vacation" for some time now. Ed Helms has been locked in to play Rusty Griswold, the son of Chevy Chase's character Clark Griswold in the original. This film is a sequel and not a remake or reboot, which should hopefully keep purist happy. Now two new interesting actors have just joined the cast.
Charlie Day and "Thor" himself, Chris Hemsworth, have signed on for the project. Day will cameo as a river-rafting guide, while Hemsworth will play Stone Crandall, the husband of Rusty's sister and an aspiring anchorman.
The always wonderful Christina Applegate is signed on to play Rusty's wife. Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are expected to make cameos in the movie, which is a welcome addition of course.
Day will undoubtedly be hilarious with his comedic charm in the small role and it will be wonderful to see Hemsworth take a stab at comedy. He shined in the recent "Rush" from Ron Howard and this seems like a fantastic career move for him.
The new film will see Rusty take his family on a road trip, similar to the one his parents took him on. Trouble is bound to ensue.
