AMCi: Indies To Watch At NYFF

The New York Film Festival begins on Friday, and this year’s lineup is insanely good, packed with a bunch of great films. These are our picks for what to watch, if you’re lucky enough to be at the fest!

Gone Girl
David Fincher’s adaptation of the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

Inherent Vice

Paul Thomas Anderson’s crime flick, set in 70’s LA, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Josh Brolin.


Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu’s surreal meta film starring Michael Keaton as a former superhero actor


Bennett Miller’s dark, true story of a violent wrestling coach and the two brothers he was involved with. Starring Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum.


Stars Miles Teller as a wannabe jazz musician, bullied by his teacher, played brilliantly by J.K. Simmons. Directed by Damien Chazelle.


The story of a British soldier separated from his unit in Belfast, during the Troubles of 1971. Stars up and comer Jack O’Connell.

David Cronenberg’s satire on the entertainment industry in Hollywood, starring Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska and John Cusack
