A pretty impressive cast is going on a new "Vacation". We are of course taking about the sequel to the 1983's Chevy Chase classic, that will star Ed Helms and Christina Applegate. Now another name has entered the mix for negotiations.
The wonderful Leslie Mann is reportedly in talks to join as Audrey Griswold. Chris Hemsworth is in negotiations to join as an up-and-coming anchorman named Stone Crandall, who is married to Audrey. I would never think to pair Hemsworth and Mann together and that's why I like the concept so much. Hopefully they would prove to have great chemistry as Mann is a fantastic comedic actress, which could work as a great balance to the character Hemsworth is up for.
Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are set to make cameos as their original characters. Charlie Day is also reportedly in negotiations to have a fun cameo.
While I tend to live in the "don't remake a classic" camp, the ensemble that this production is brewing up is pretty spectacular. I also like that this will be a sequel and not a reboot, especially with appearances from original members.
