A deep space adventure is what is in store for the Enterprise crew in "Star Trek 3", under the command of director Roberto Orci. Taking over for J.J. Abrams, who helmed the other two installments, Orci has co-writing credits on those films, so knows the property and will hopefully do the next film justice. Now we have an idea as to the timeline, thanks to a prominent cast member.
Spock himself, played by Zachary Quinto, has revealed that the production is aiming to shoot within the next six months. He made the statement on NBC's Today Show.
Orci stated a month ago that the first draft of the script was complete, so this timeline isn't too far-fetched. He also revealed that he plans to make "Star Trek 3" the most reminiscent of the original TV series.
In addition to Quinto, Chris Pine is returning as Kirk, Zoe Saldana is reprising her role as Uhura and many other familiar faces will be returning for the third installment. The other two films were fun and solid by most standards. Let's hope Orci gives us a great second sequel.
