AMCi: The Highest Grossing Indies of 2014 So Far

Ok, so we know independent movies aren’t about how much money they make at the box office, but the running list IndieWire has been curating is interesting.

The biggest earner this year so far in the indie world is Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, with an impressive $59m taking. Jon Favreau’s charming “Chef” is next on the list, followed by the wonderful “Boyhood”, by Richard Linklater.

Here are the top ten:

3. Boyhood - $23,400,453

4. A Most Wanted Man - $17,132,584

5. Begin Again - $16,155,140

6. America - $14,444,502

7. Belle - $10,726,630

8. Magic In The Moonlight - $10,399,042

9. Bad Words - $7,779,614

10. Cantinflas - $6,328,642
