Leonardo DiCaprio Departs STEVE JOBS Biopic

By Amirose Eisenbach October 3, 2014

The wonderful Leonardo DiCaprio is officially out of the running to play Steve Jobs. The reason for his departure is being reported as deciding to shoot "The Revenant" instead.

Danny Boyle took over to direct from David Fincher who left the production, over compensation and creative control disputes. The biopic coming out of Sony Pictures is based on Walter Isaacson's book, which has been adapted by Aaron Sorkin.

Sony apparently has a new wish list of actors to play the tech genius. The list includes Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale, whose name we saw on the wish list many months ago.

Boyle and Sorkin are both incredibly talented, so this project seems like it will indeed attract some top-tier actors to consider the role. It will be interesting to see who finally lands the gig.
