Instead of a big announcement at New York Comic Con or another geek-heavy trade-show, Warner Bros. decided to unveil their ambitious D.C. slate, as well as other exciting tidbits, during a stakeholder meeting this morning. There was speculation before but now 10 new films under the D.C. Comics umbrella have been revealed, with their corresponding release dates and some casting confirmations.

In addition to the "Justice League" confirmation we were expecting, as well as the murmurs of the "Suicide Squad" film we heard about a couple of weeks ago, standalone "Wonder Woman", "The Flash", "Aquaman", "Shazam", "Cyborg" and "Green Lantern" films are all coming.

The incredible Ezra Miller from such films as "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "We Need to Talk About Kevin", was announced as portraying The Flash in the standalone. Jason Momoa was finally confirmed as Aquaman and Ray Fisher, who was already announced as playing Cyborg in the upcoming "Batman V. Superman", will play the character in the standalone film.

Marvel has had a solid plan and slate for years now, moving forward with their phases in a successful and incredible manner. It's nice to see D.C. take more solid and aggressive steps in that direction. One thing is for sure; it's a great time to be a comic-book and film fan.

Check out the official details below for their upcoming D.C. slate:

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," directed by Zack Snyder (2016)

"Suicide Squad," directed by David Ayer (2016)

"Wonder Woman," starring Gal Gadot (2017)
