AMCi: 71 Leads Nominations For British Independent Film Awards

The upcoming thriller “71”, starring Jack O’Connell has nine nominations for this years British Independent Film Awards, leading the pack of the indies chosen.

The film was nominated for the main award, plus two nominations for director Yann Demange, screenplay for Gregory Burke, actor for Jack O’Connell, and supporting actor for Sean Harris. “71” is about a young British soldier who is separated from his unit during the “troubles” in Northern Ireland in 1971.

The inspiring and funny “Pride” got seven nominations, with “Frank”, “Mr Turner” and “Catch Me Daddy” grabbing five nominations each.

The big names nominated in the acting category include Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Michael Fassbender.
