Michael Fassbender in Talks to Play STEVE JOBS After Christian Bale's Depature

By Amirose Eisenbach November 5, 2014

Following the news earlier this week that Christian Bale has dropped out of playing Steve Jobs in the Danny Boyle-helmed production, a new high-profile name is now in the mix. Michael Fassbender is reportedly being eyed to play the tech genius.

This production has had many issues getting off the ground. Leonardo DiCaprio was originally supposed to play Jobs, then Bale stepped into the vacated role once DiCaprio exited. Now another departure and yet another incredible actor potentially sprouting up it its place.

That isn't where the difficulty stops, however. David Fincher was supposed to direct it originally but left the production and that void filled by Boyle. What is going on behind-the-scenes to result in this many talented people to leave? Sadly we may never really know.

Aaron Sorkin has penned the screenplay which will focus on three separate product launches that defined Jobs' life and legacy. Seth Rogen is said to be up for the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak but no official word on that front has been revealed yet.

If the deal is locked and Fassbender signs on, the potential magic that he could create with Sorkin and Boyle could be a real piece of cinema gold. We just have to wait to see how this one pans out before getting too excited. It's starting to feel like the boy who cried wolf.
