AMCi: Golden Globe Nominations Announced

There was more awards love for ‘Birdman’, with the announcement of the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards nominations this morning.

Actors Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven. Paula Patton and Peter Krause announced the nominees, with Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s movie picking up seven - including Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for Michael Keaton, Best Supporting Actress for Emma Stone, Best Supporting Actor for Edward Norton, and Best Director for Iñárritu.

Richard Linklater was also nominated for Best Director for ‘Boyhood’, which picked up five nominations in total, including Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette in the Best Supporting categories, and Best Motion Picture, Drama.

‘The Imitation Game’ also got five nominations, including Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Actor for Benedict Cumberbatch and Best Supporting Actress for Keira Knightley.

The most notable snub was for Angelina Jolie’s ‘Unbroken’, which didn’t pick up any nominations, and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’, which only got a nomination for Best Original Score.

And Jake Gyllenhaal (‘Nightcrawler’) and Jennifer Aniston (‘Cake’) picked up another nomination each, after their inclusion in the Screen Actors Guild Awards yesterday.
