SUICIDE SQUAD Cast Announced Including Jared Leto, Tom Hardy and Will Smith

Warner Bros. has brought out the big guns, in the form of announcing their superstar cast for their upcoming D.C. property, "Suicide Squad". The villainous ensemble will be composed of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne.

Directed by David Ayer, coming off his successful WWII epic "Fury", the story centers on the team of super-villains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. This property is certainly one of the more risky D.C. properties the studio is bringing to life,  so locking in a hot and talented cast, is a huge step in the right direction for them to garner interest.

Coming off his Oscar win for "Dallas Buyers Club", having Leto play the new Joker is a very inspired choice. Just how big of a role he will have here, we aren't sure yet. But it will presumably set the stage to build him to becoming the archenemies to Batman in a standalone perhaps.

Locking Smith for Deadshot and Hardy for Rick Flag were two fantastic moves. Watching the gorgeous Robbie, coming off the heat of "The Wolf of Wall Street", play the wild Harley Quinn, seems like the perfect career move for her right now. We haven't seen too much from model Delevingne yet, who will be playing Enchantress, but WB wouldn't risk it if they didn't think she has what it takes. That brings us to the final name on the roster, Courtne,y portraying Boomerang. Personally, the actor overacts everything to me. But perhaps the campiness of the character will be a good fit for him.

The Nick Fury equivalent of the Suicide Squad is Amanda Waller, the tough overseer of the team. It's being reported that the shortlist of actresses being eyed for the role include Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Quite the impressive list.

WB has locked an all-star cast, a fantastic director and has ambitiously announced their upcoming slate. It appears they finally came to play and we couldn't be more thrilled about it.
