The "Deadpool" film is moving full-speed ahead and following the news of Gina Carano joining the cast, we now have another badass female joining the production. It's been confirmed that Morena Baccarin has signed on as the female lead and romantic interest of Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth.

The beautiful and talented actress is best known for her work on "Homeland", "Firefly" and currently "Gotham". Baccarin is said to be one of six actresses who tested for the role and she's the lucky one who took it.

It's also been confirmed that T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein have joined the cast and that the character of Colossus with appear in the film in some capacity. It still hasn't been announced if it will have a PG-13 or R rating but the fans who know the character are still holding out for the more mature rating, as it's pretty essential to the core of the character.

Tim Miller is directing the film, working from a script from "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The delicious pieces are starting to fall into place! We'll keep you posted as new details emerge.
