Ryan Reynolds Wins April Fool's Day, DEADPOOL Officially Rated R

By Amirose Eisenbach April 2, 2015

Ryan Reynolds and the team behind the upcoming "Deadpool" film won April Fool's Day yesterday. In the morning, the actor tweeted what fans feared, that the film would have a PG-13 rating. He then released a tweet later that day, stating that the film would actually be rated R.

This left many fans, myself included, not knowing what was real. Was this a cruel joke within a joke and the film still didn't have a rating? Or was the good news true and the film would have the R rating that it deserved? Confusion, excitement and fear were instilled in his pawns, proving yet again why Reynolds is going to be one badass Deadpool.

A day later and we are now certain our beloved Merc with a Mouth is receiving the proper rating, which will allow for graphic violence, cussing, proper breaking of the 4th wall and all the magic and mayhem that comes with the character. Thank the heavens that Twentieth Century Fox didn't just go for mainstream appeal and cash grabs and is trying to faithfully represent the character so many of us adore.

Well played, Reynolds. You had us eating out of the palm of your hand yesterday, questioning what was really in store. Can't wait to see you bring Deadpool to life, the right way.
