Matthew Vaughn's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" was an incredible critical and monetary success. There have been murmurs about a sequel since it swept the box office and left audiences exhilarated and now it appears to actually be in the works over at 20th Century Fox.

While Vaughn is not locked yet to direct and we've got to imagine that there are talks about it, it appears he is at least involved in the creative process.

On what we could expect from the sequel, Vaughn stated, "The sequel will be ‘This is the modern-day gentleman spy.’ Because Harry isn’t. Harry even says, ‘There is a reason why we’ve developed weak chins.’ He said that meaning, ‘Look at us, we need to get new blood into this system,’ and that’s what Eggsy is. I joke that we’ve made the prequel to the Eggsy movie."

Without Vaughn, I'm not sure the same magic of the first film would be captured. All elements of his direction fused together to create a truly fun, exciting and sexy action-thriller. But the film racked up $400 million overall, so the studio certainly has the incentive to lock Vaughn or at the very least, another exciting and prominent talent.

Fox is furthering their Vaughn business in general, as he has been in talks to helm "Flash Gordon" for them. Regardless of which of these projects pan out, hopefully both if we're lucky, Fox is banking on the fact that Vaughn is an incredible director and the more creative projects from him, the better.
