Jared Hess To Direct Disney's The Pet

By AMC March 1, 2012

Disney is looking to bring one of their projects back from the dead as they team up with producer Scott Rudin for "The Pet." They've hired Jared Hess ("Napoleon Dynamite") to direct off the story created by Matt Lieberman ("Short Circuit"). The script was recently rewritten by Tim Dowling ("This Means War").

"The Pet" centers on a man who's abducted by aliens, taken to their planet and turned into a family pet. The project has been simmering in development for years but only now has it picked up enough momentum to climb into pre-production.

Disney's new sci-fi action film "John Carter" will be released in AMC Theatres everywhere on March 9th.
