"The Thing" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead is joining the cast for the upcoming film "A.C.O.D." The cast already includes Adam Scott, Jane Lynch and Richard Jenkins. Directing the film is newcomer Stuart Zicherman based off the script written by himself and Ben Karlin.

"A.C.O.D." is a comedy centered on a grown man (Scott) who discovers that he was enlisted in a study about divorced children many years ago. When he's ushered into a present-day follow-up study, it wreaks new havoc on his family. Winstead will be playing his longtime girlfriend who tries and guide him out of the chaos of his life.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead will next be seen in horror-thriller "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," due out in AMC Theatres this June 22.
