Drama
Set in Montana between 1910 and 1935, A River Runs Through It revolves around two brothers, their minister father and the river that in many ways shapes their lives. While brothers Norman (Craig Sheffer) and Paul MacLean (Brad Pitt) are much alike, striking differences begin to unfold. Norman tends to emulate their minister father (Tom Skerritt), scholarly and morally upright. Paul, handsome and daring, plays to a different tune. As their lives take separate paths, the tough stoicism that's been bred into the brothers has made it almost impossible for them to express their feelings for each other, and drifts them further apart. But out on the river, the three men come together in their abiding love for fly-fishing and the search for harmony that it represents.
