Adapted from Savyon Liebrecht’s beautiful short story: the tale of a young woman, Rivkah, the only child of ultra-Orthodox parents living in Jerusalem. Restless and curious about life outside her traditional community, Rivkah is drawn to folk dancing. When her father becomes aware of her growing attraction to a secular man in the dance group, he reacts by arranging Rivkah’s marriage to an older Orthodox widower. This sets in motion Rivkah’s ultimate rebellion, an act that will test her and her parents’ commitment to tradition and to each other.
