When American brothers Todd and Jan Wolfhouse (Erik Stolhanske and Paul Soter) travel to Germany to spread their grandfather's ashes at Oktoberfest, they stumble upon a super-secret, centuries old, underground beer games competition?Beerfest?the secret Olympics of beer drinking. The brothers receive a less than warm welcome from their German cousins, the Von Wolfhausens, who humiliate Todd and Jan, slander their relatives, and finally cast them out of the event. Vowing to return in a year to defend their country and their family's honor, the Wolfhouse boys assemble a ragtag dream team of beer drinkers and gamers: Barry Badrinath (Jay Chandrasekhar), the consummate skills player with a dark past; Phil Krundle (Kevin Heffernan) AKA 'Landfill,' the one-man chugging machine; and Steve 'Fink' Finklestein (Steve Lemme), the lab tech with a Masters degree in All Things Beer. This Magnificent Five train relentlessly, using their hearts, minds and livers to drink faster, smarter and harder than they ever have before. But first they must battle their own demons... as well as a bunch of big, blond, German jerks who want to destroy the team before they can even make it back to Munich. Revenge, like beer, is best served cold.

  • ERIK STOLHANSKEActor

Erik Stolhanske brings an element of wholesome comedy into the group dynamic, as one-fifth of the Broken Lizard comedy group. His special blend of parlor and Scandinavian humor adds a Midwestern peppering to the group's fragrant comedic mix. Stolhanske has written, produced and starred in all of Broken Lizards' films - including the hit comedy Super Troopers, Club Dread and their first film, Puddle Cruiser, which shined at The Sundance Film Festival and then went on to be official selections at the Berlin and London Film Festivals. Additionally, Stolhanske has had roles in the film remake of the popular 70s series The Dukes of Hazzard, the Onion Movie in which he plays a network news producer, and Watching the Detectives, Paul Soter's directorial debut. On television, Stolhanske appeared in the HBO critically acclaimed series Curb Your Enthusiasm and Six Feet Under. He works extensively with the Lizards, serving as producer on Ambulance Chasers, Take My Wife, and Pony Bush, as well as developing projects of his own. Erik is known to have a sturdy constitution ("Old Ironsides") and can best be described as the most poignant of the Lizards. He hopes that Broken Lizards' films receive critical acclaim in Sweden and Norway so that he can reconnect with his ancestral heritage. Erik Stolhanske and Broken Lizard are currently at work on another comedy, The Slammin' Salmon - a restaurant owned and deplorably operated by former Heavy Weight Champion, Cleon Salmon, and staffed by Broken Lizard.
