Set in the Pacific Northwest long before the white man 'discovered' America, this is the story of a young Native American whose father, the tribe's chief, is killed by a bear. During the young man's attempt to avenge his father's death by killing that bear, the forest spirit transforms the young man into the thing he detests most: a bear.
