Baptiste, a talented imitator, can't make a living from his art. One day, he is approached by Pierre Chozene, a famous but discreet novelist, troubled by importunities, solicitors, socialites and annoyances. Pierre needed some peace and quiet to finish his most ambitious and intimate text. So he asks Baptiste to become his voice on the telephone, and Baptiste becomes his answering machine, at their peril.
