A political drama set in a Latin American country entrenched in revolutionary chaos, THE DANCER UPSTAIRS marks John Malkovich's directorial debut. Javier Bardem plays a policeman charged with finding the legendary guerilla leader who is planning to overthrow the corrupt government.
