    Ferocious Dinosaurs In The Jurassic World Movies

    Get Tickets JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION now playing Ever since we entered the gates of Jurassic Park in Steven Spielberg’s beloved 1993 action adventure classic, we have gotten to know some pretty amazing characters as well as some of the most ferocious dinosaurs that have ever ruled the Earth. Over the years, we’ve watched as Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm, Owen Grady, Claire Dearing, and multiple others have run for their lives with blood-thirsty, genetically-modified killing machines hot on their trail, giving us some of cinema’s most exciting moments in the process. With JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION right around the corner — the latest entry in the JURASSIC WORLD franchise opens this June at AMC Theatres nationwide. There’s 65 million years of dino-DNA to dissect here, so let’s get this show on the road. The Clever Velociraptor From Jurassic Park The Tyrannosaurus Rex in JURASSIC PARK is undoubtedly the king, err queen of the dinosaur world, and while she’s at the center of some of the movie’s best scenes, it is the clever velociraptor and her pack that steal the show whenever they’re on screen. And in the process, Steven Spielberg, Michael Crichton, Stan Winston, and everyone who worked on bringing them to life created some of cinema’s most recognizable movie monsters. Let’s just look at some of the scenes involving the raptors that make a case for the species being some of the toughest, smartest, and most iconic creatures of the movie. There’s the opening scene where the raptor waits for its golden opportunity to attack and kill one of the Jurassic Park workers while being loaded into its paddock. Then we have Alan Grant talking about the creature with equal parts fear and reverence. Even the baby raptors send chills down the acclaimed paleontologist’s spine. And in the end, it’s not a T-Rex chasing the survivors around the visitors center or killing game wardens, but instead the velociraptor, that oh so clever girl. The Terrifying Tyrannosaurus From The Lost World: Jurassic Park Those who thought one Tyrannosaurus was bad enough in JURASSIC PARK were in for a surprise of a lifetime when THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK was released four years later. Not only is there a Tyrannosaurus this time around, there are multiple T-Rex running around the deserted island of Isla Sorna, including an infant that several of the characters make the mistake of using as bait in an attempt to draw out and capture its fully-matured parents. After some characters are ripped in two, pulled out of a waterfall, or straight up killed, the T-Rex is captured, but not for long. InGen, in the company’s infinite wisdom, decides to bring the infant T-Rex and a fully-grown dinosaur to San Diego, which ultimately ends in disaster. In this moment, Steven Spielberg got his big movie monster on the run moment, creating one remarkable closing act to his 1997 summer blockbuster. The Ruthless Spinosaurus From Jurassic Park III JURASSIC WORLD III, the first movie in the franchise to not be directed by Steven Spielberg, largely follows Alan Grant as he is tricked into landing on Isla Sorna to rescue a married couple’s missing son who was last spotted off the coast of the ill-fated location. There they encounter a T-Rex, raptors, and other familiar faces, but the human characters also cross paths with what could be the most destructive dinosaur yet, the ruthless and extremely lethal spinosaurus. Starting with the group’s first run-in with the massive carnivorous dinosaur with razor-sharp teeth and gigantic spikes protruding from its back, the Spinosaurus is built up as an incredibly intelligent and blood-thirsty apex predator that even makes short work of a T-Rex, which used to be at the top of the food-chain. Grant and the other survivors run into the beast on multiple occasions before eventually escaping for the mainland. The Merciless Indominus Rex From Jurassic World The long-dormant franchise came back with a bang in 2015 with JURASSIC WORLD, which introduced audiences to perhaps the most advanced and terrifying dinosaur yet, the merciless Indominous Rex. This monster of a dino, which was created through splicing together genes from a tyrannosaurus, a raptor, and a multitude of other creatures from outside the Jurassic Era, was built up to be the ultimate attraction, but instead of bringing thousands of new guests to the park, it ultimately brought its downfall. With long claws, teeth like a crocodile, the ability to blend in with its surroundings, and communication with other raptors in the park — even those trained by Owen Grady — the Indominous Rex quickly taught InGen a lesson they should have learned decades earlier: just because you could doesn’t mean you should. And in the end, it took a group of human survivors, a pack of raptors, a T-Rex, and a Mosasaurus to finally bring down the new apex predator and prevent further death and destruction. The Vicious Indoraptor From Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom There is a lot going on in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, even by the franchise’s standards, creating a hectic but thrilling action spectacle. And just like the film that came before it, this 2018 sequel introduces yet another genetically-modified cloned dinosaur: the vicious Indoraptor. Created by InGen’s lead geneticist Dr. Henry Wu using a combination of Indominus Rex DNA taken from the abandoned Jurassic World site with that of a raptor, the Indoraptor is unlike anything anyone has ever seen before, and it just keeps getting worse. Throughout the movie, InGen attempts to find Blue, the leader of the raptor pack from the previous movie, in hopes that it can create a version of the creature that will obey human demands. But just like every other time something like this has been done in the franchise, the plan backfires and death and destruction await. And even though the Indoraptor dies at the end of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, there’s always a chance we haven’t seen the end of it yet. Who knows what kind of ferocious dinosaurs are waiting around the corner, but we’ll find out soon enough when JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION opens in AMC Theatres nationwide in June.     Thrilling Moments From The Jurassic World Universe

    Get Tickets JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION opens June 10th Over the course of the past 29 years, the JURASSIC PARK and JURASSIC WORLD movies have given audiences some of the most thrilling and unforgettable moments on the big screen. With dinosaur escapes, epic chase sequences, and all other kinds of brilliant set pieces that leave you gripping your armrest and sitting on the edge of your seat, the franchise’s thrills and chills just keep getting better as it goes on. With JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION coming to AMC Theatres nationwide on June 10, 2022, there has never been a better time to go through the expansive franchise and look at some of the most thrilling moments from each entry. Let’s go back to Jurassic Park... The T-Rex Escapes The first JURASSIC PARK movie is full of thrilling moments like the first raptor attack in the opening prologue, the survivors’ attempt to reboot all of the park’s systems, the raptors chasing Tim and Lexi through the kitchen, and that daring escape. But the moment that stands out more than anything else in the movie, and perhaps the franchise as a whole, is the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex escape that takes place after all the systems are taken offline by Dennis Nedry. You know, the part of the movie where the massive T-Rex finally reveals itself in all its gory glory. The thud of the T-Rex’s footsteps causing ripples in the glass of water, the vanishing goat, and Donald Gennaro running for safety, all perfectly set up the moment where the two young children find themselves face-to-face with the massive dinosaur which then flips over their vehicle, presses it into the mud and throws it off the side of a cliff. Watch Now JURASSIC PARK Raptors Hunting In The Long Grass Things just keep going from bad to worse for the group of InGen employees and big game hunters sent to Isla Sorna in THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK, and that’s especially true when the group escapes a T-Rex attack and makes the mistake of walking into a patch of long grass where a pack of raptors turn the hunters into the hunted. Despite pleas to avoid the area and find another way around, the group marches through in the dark of night, only to get picked off one by one. The visual of the raptors pushing down the grass as they stalk their prey remains one of the most terrifying, thrilling, and exciting few seconds of footage in the entire movie and turns up the tension in the scene. Steven Spielberg does a tremendous job of directing this scene and making it look as if the patch of long grass was lit only by the moonlight, which adds another level of mystique to the whole situation. Watch Now THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK Pterosaurs Attack The aviary was one of numerous concepts from the original “Jurassic Park” novel that ultimately did not end up in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film of the same name. But longtime fans of the book, and one of its most thrilling chapters, were able to rejoice when the structure showed up in 2001’s JURASSIC PARK III. Taking place near the end of the movie after Alan Grant helps the Kirbys locate their missing son, this action-packed encounter is just as terrifying as the original scene that unfolded in Michael Crichton’s novel and offers up one of the movie’s most memorable moments. This sequence is full of danger at every turn and sees one near-death experience after another, with one unlucky human becoming prey for a massive and vicious pterodactyl before the rest of the survivors escape via raft. And it’s also one of the longest set pieces in the entire film, which really drives home the danger of this thrilling encounter with a flock of pterosaurs. Watch Now JURASSIC PARK III The Indominus Rex Meets Its Match The genetically-engineered hybrid dinosaur known as the Indominus Rex wreaks havoc on the staff, guests, and other animals throughout JURASSIC WORLD, and is presented as an unstoppable force the likes of which have never before been seen. From using its advanced intellect and camouflage abilities to trick park staff into thinking it escaped to sending the park’s combat force on a wild-goose chase to lure the team into the jungle to getting the raptors to turn against their handler, there isn’t much the I-Rex can’t do. That is until the Tyrannosaurus Rex is released and confronts the monster in the main resort section of the flashy Jurassic World. And even though the new apex predator briefly gets the upper-hand, the Indominus Rex fails to notice Blue – the sole surviving raptor – come into battle and help the T-Rex push the creature towards the lagoon where a Mosasaurus jumps from the water and drags the I-Rex to its watery grave. Watch Now JURASSIC WORLD Escaping The Island JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is the movie that probably spends the least amount of time at the various versions of the park, but it makes the most of its time on Isla Nublar, especially with the daring escape sequence before the island is destroyed in a volcanic eruption. Joining the group of InGen employees on the “rescue” mission are Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing, who almost get stranded on the island before it becomes covered in lava and ash and suffer a similar fate as the animals who have long called it home. The entire set piece is outstanding and features some of the most thrilling action of the entire franchise, but it does end with one of the most heartbreaking moments as well. As the ship casts off from the docks, Owen and Claire watch as a Brachiosaurus is left to die on the island, eventually becoming overcome by the eruption. What’s even more agonizing about this moment is the fact that it’s the same Brachiosaurus Alan Grant saw on the island all those years earlier.     Bigger & Badder Jurassic World!

    JURASSIC WORLD thrilled audiences and broke records in 2015. The fourth film in the JURASSIC PARK franchise offered new thrills, new dinosaurs, and new characters played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. That sequel was 14 years in the making, and the time and effort put into the film paid off. A wonderful cast and exciting storyline reinvigorated the franchise; the film would go on to become one of the highest grossing films of all time. Not bad for a franchise that could have gone extinct! Now the highly-anticipated JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is almost upon us. Howard and Pratt reprise their roles for the sequel, in a story that once again expands the scope of the JURASSIC PARK story. With less than a month to go until it hits theaters, let’s take a look at everything we know so far about JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM. The Plot Following the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park in the previous movie, dinosaurs have been left to roam free on the island of Isla Nublar. Now a volcanic eruption threatens to destroy them once and for all. Unwilling to see the dinosaurs become extinct, Claire (Howard) enlists the help of her old flame Owen (Pratt), and together they head to Isla Nublar on a rescue mission. This being a JURASSIC PARK sequel, little goes according to plan, and Claire and Owen once again find themselves caught up in the dangers of the island. The Characters Several characters from JURASSIC WORLD (and from previous JURASSIC PARK chapters) return for FALLEN KINGDOM, and we’ll see plenty of new faces, too. Chris Pratt is Owen Grady, a Navy veteran who we first met in Jurassic World. Last time we saw him, he was in a relationship with Claire. Bryce Dallas Howard is Claire Dearing, the former operations manager of the Jurassic World theme park. Ted Levine is Ken Wheatley. We don’t currently know what role Wheatley plays in the story. Justice Smith is Franklin Webb, a former IT technician who worked at Jurassic World. Rafe Spall is Eli Mills. We’re not sure what role Mills will have, but Spall has confirmed that his character will be present throughout the whole film. B.D Wong plays Dr. Wu, the geneticist who appeared in the first Jurassic Park as well as Jurassic World. James Cromwell is Benjamin Lockwood. Working with John Hammond, Lockwood developed the technology to clone dinosaurs. Toby Jones plays Gunnar Eversol. Much like other new characters, little is known about Gunnar’s role in the movie. Jeff Goldbum returns as Dr. Ian Malcolm, a chaos theory expert who is remembered for his appearances in both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. We’re not sure why Malcolm is back in the franchise, but we’re excited to see him return. The New Dinosaur The Indominus Rex terrified us in Jurassic World. In the sequel, Dr. Wu appears to be creating new genetically-modified dinosaurs. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM introduces a new creature, the Indoraptor. The dinosaur will be significantly smaller and more agile than the Indominus, but it’s every bit as scary if not more so. The basic genome for the Indominus was a T-Rex, so based on the size of the creature and its name, it’s likely that the Indoraptor is modeled on a velociraptor. That doesn’t bode well for Claire and Owen. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM hits theaters on June 22.

    Jurassic World Brings The Horror

    What do you remember from JURASSIC PARK? Maybe the gorgeous first view of dinosaurs, or the gorgeous view of Jeff Goldblum. Most of the highlights, however, are close to horror. Hiding from velociraptors in the kitchen, the rampaging T-rex, the venom-spitting Dilophosaurus. The Jurassic Park movies are adventures first and foremost, but horror has always been part of the franchise DNA. Now JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM really leans into the horror angle. That’s a perfect approach, as we love watching horror more now than ever before. By taking the film’s action away from an island and towards our home, there’s an opportunity to infuse horror deep into the Jurassic experience. Nothing is quite as scary as seeing monsters in familiar places, and that’s the key to JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM amping up its sense of horror. (We won’t get into spoilers here; everything discussed below is in the film’s trailers.) JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM begins like many of the Jurassic stories do – with a team heading to an island populated with genetically-recreated dinosaurs. In this case it’s Isla Nublar, the location from JURASSIC WORLD. It’s been abandoned by people since the conclusion of that film, but dinos still roam there. When a volcano threatens to destroy everything on the island, Claire and Owen (Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt) return to their old stomping ground to help rescue the remaining beasts. Eventually they end up back on the mainland, somewhere in California, with dinosaurs in tow. In the meantime, a secretive group working with the geneticist Dr. Henry Wu has been breeding an all-new dinosaur optimized for use in military operations. So we’ve got old dinosaurs brought back to the mainland (bad idea) and a new military-oriented beast also away from the confinement of an island (super-bad idea). Want to guess what happens when they collide? You don’t have to guess, as the trailers have shown us the new dinosaur, called the Indoraptor, menacing a young girl in her bedroom. Children being threatened by raptors is a core part of the Jurassic concept, but we’ve never seen this happen in the kid’s own home. The image of the raptor’s claw reaching out towards a cowering child is right out of Enlightenment art. It’s the monster we created reaching right into our child’s bedroom. The new raptor doesn’t just teleport into that bedroom, either. The centerpiece of the latest JURASSIC WORLD movie is an extended game of cat and mouse – or raptor and human – as the creature explores the mansion in which much of the movie takes place. It’s one thing to see a vicious dinosaur crawling through the halls of a theme park, and quite another to see it navigating a space that we can understand as a home. The mansion also turns parts of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM into gothic horror – when you see a raptor up on the roof, the way a vampire or other old Universal Monster might have appeared, the effect is primal. Moving beyond that image, there’s also the pure horror of a massive creature created explicitly to fight as a weapon. The dinosaurs in previous Jurassic films are frightening enough, with their untamed nature and tremendous size. Factor in a design that specifies hunting humans from the beginning, and the people in this movie might not have a chance. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is pretty family-friendly, but it still has a violent edge. With millennia-old beasts brought back to life to run around in our modern world, you expect to see their teeth and claws going to work, and this film does not disappoint. After all the events of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, there’s still the possibility that dinosaurs could be out in the American countryside. That would completely change the game for a third Jurassic World movie. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM opens on June 22.

    Jurassic World 2 Unveils Poster

    If you too can see the ripples in the water, it can mean only one thing: Jurassic Park is back. Continuing the legacy of one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of all time, director JA Bayona is heading to the lab to cook up a fresh batch of cinematic carnivores. Hoping to continue the success of 2015's Jurassic World, the newly titled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will follow in the gigantic footsteps of its predecessors in a series we all grew up with. While there is still a bit of a wait until we hear John Williams's iconic theme again, the movie's colossal promotional campaign is finally starting to kick into gear. A Whole New World Snapped by Jurassic Outpost at a licensing expo in London, fans got a fresh look at who the stars will be in next year's extravaganza. Focusing on (arguably) its three biggest names, a brand new poster features Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Rexy the T-Rex, and Blue the Raptor. Being the ultimate trifecta of unlikely heroes, the trio worked together to bring down that vicious Indominus Rex at the end of the first Jurassic World, and all will be back for the sequel. Sadly, for those hoping to see a new shirtless picture of Pratt, the image of Owen is actually ripped directly from the first movie — what, are we on a budget? The road to Fallen Kingdom has been a long one, and when the franchise seemed extinct after JPIII in 2001, many had given up hope that we would ever see Ian Malcolm's glistening chest ever again. Thankfully, Colin Trevorrow rebooted the series with Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as its leads, and life, er, found a way. Hype is high surrounding Fallen Kingdom, and some 25 years after Steven Spielberg's original movie, Jurassic junkies can't wait to open up those iconic gates for another archeological adventure. Digging up the bones of the past, Fallen Kingdom plans to introduce James Cromwell as the former partner of John Hammond, but also focus on a new era outside the confines of the theme park. With rumors of weaponized dinos and a hybrid even more deadly than the Indominus Rex, fans are just hoping that we don't stick frickin' laser beams on the raptors' heads. Interestingly, for the first time in the history of the dino-mite series, we are unlocking the cage doors and letting the beasts run free. Sure, we may have had that maligned trip to San Diego at the end of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, but Ja Bayona promises a very different change of direction for the sequel. With the return of B.D. Wong and Jeff Goldblum — cheer — Fallen Kingdom could have just the right balance of the old and the new to hatch another sequel and usher in the concluding chapter of a second trilogy. Either way, the fifth Jurassic Park film is expected to take a huge bite out of the box office when it hits cinemas on June 22, 2018.     Major Jurassic World 2 Questions

    2018 is set to be a big year for Hollywood, and few films are as highly anticipated as JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM. The sequel follows 2015's box-office juggernaut, and brings Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard together for another conflict with dinosaurs on the big screen this summer. Jurassic World left us with a few unanswered questions, however, so we can't help but wonder if the sequel will provide us with answers. Moreover, while the trailer did give us an insight into what we should expect, it too left us asking some important questions. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the major questions we have as we look forward to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. What Happened Between Claire and Owen? When the credits rolled on Jurassic World, Claire Dearing and Owen Grady quite literally walked off into the sunset together. It seemed that their brush with near-extinction had allowed them to overcome their differences. They could finally see each other for the people they really were. The first trailer for JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM tells a different story. Not only are Claire and Owen sarcastically quipping with each other like they had done before their 2015 adventure, but Owen actually implies that they are no longer together. So what happened? We had hoped that their ordeal would have brought them closer together. Having said that, if they really are apart, we can rest assured that a volcanic eruption might just bring them back together. What Will Dr. Wu's Role Be? While Jurassic World was full of new characters, one person we did recognize was Dr. Henry Wu. The character appeared in JURASSIC PARK during the iconic raptor hatching scene, but played a much larger role in the franchise's most recent outing, overseeing the creation of dinosaurs. Wu did make it off Isla Nublar but the reveal that he was working with Hoskins suggests that we haven't the last of him. Remember, while Hoskins was killed by a velociraptor, he did manage to get dino-embryos off the island with Wu. His plan to weaponize the Indominous for military purposes could very well come to fruition. Wu's departure with the embryos was the only loose end in Jurassic World, so you can rest assured that we will see him in Fallen Kingdom. But just what will he be up to? Will Rexy Survive The Eruption? Having been the MVP of previous Jurassic Park films, it's only fitting that the legendary T-Rex is returning for JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM. This film icon, affectionately known as Rexy, first exploded onto the big screen in 1993's JURASSIC PARK when she tore through an electrical fence. She made her return 22 years later in Jurassic World, saving Claire and Owen from the dreaded Indominous Rex. But as the JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM trailer reveals, Rexy is set to dominate again as she easily takes out a Carnosaur. As she roars triumphantly, the volcano threatening Isla Nublar erupts in the background. As we know, that pyroclastic cloud heads straight for Owen and Claire. But what happens to Rexy? After disposing of velociraptors and an Indominous Rex, will this film icon be able to survive the volcano's rampage? Will There Be Any Kids In The Film? Family-centric storylines have been one of the biggest reasons for the success of the JURASSIC PARK franchise. The films utlilize the perils of the island to make our protagonists realize what is truly important in life: family. This type of family-driven plot helps each film appeal to all ages. And while the cast has changed between all four films, one important element has remained: the kids. From Lex and Tim to Zach and Gray, kids have been the driving force behind the Jurassic Park films. But we couldn't help noticing that there didn't seem to be any kids in the Fallen Kingdom trailer. (Which makes sense, given that the film revolves around a dino rescue operation.) Does this mean that there won't be any youngsters loose on the dino-infested island? While Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will be reprising their roles from JURASSIC WORLD, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins will not. So, unless Claire's favorite nephews make a surprise cameo (like Lex and Tim did in The Lost World: Jurassic Park), it appears that Fallen Kingdom won't feature them. However, one of the extended previews did contain a brief clip of Owen and Claire protecting a little girl. So, it appears that we may have at least one child in the film. But whether she's featured prominently remains to be seen. Will Blue Help Or Hunt Owen? Owen's relationship with Blue was one of the highlights of Jurassic World. Not only was he able to communicate with the velociraptor, but their bond was so strong that the dinosaur turned its back on the Indominous to protect him. As the Fallen Kingdom trailer reveals, we will find out a little more about the pair's relationship. But when Owen returns to the island, he ends up in a standoff with the dinosaur he raised. And we have to wonder if the time apart will have weakened their bond, or strengthened it. With the release of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM on the horizon, it's safe to say that we're all excited to return to Isla Nublar. But let's just hope that the film will shed some light on those nagging questions that we were left with after Jurassic World. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM hits US theaters on June 22, 2018.

    New Hybrid Dino in Jurassic World?

    Whether you were a fan of the Indominus Rex or not, you may be interested to know that it wasn't the only hybrid dinosaur that was intended to appear in 2015's JURASSIC WORLD. More hybrids were initially conceived, they just never made it to the theatrical cut. However, one of the artist who worked on the concept renditions for the dinosaurs in JURASSIC WORLD just released images of a hybrid cut from the film. Bodin Sterba, a concept artist who worked on the dinosaur designs, recently posted a few renditions of the mysterious Stegoceratops to his own website. Sterba didn't provide too many details to go along with the image, but just on their own, the images give us a pretty good idea of what the new hybrid would have looked like. The dinosaur is a meld between a Triceratops and a Stegosaurus, two of the most iconic dinosaurs in the JURASSIC PARK series. On their own, each dinosaur played role in the original JURASSIC trilogy. The Triceratops more so because of its noteworthy appearance in the first JURASSIC PARK movie. As for the hybrid mix of those dinosaurs, just taking one look at these few images, it's clear that this dinosaur hybrid would've been another highlight of the film, evident in the close attention to detail by the artist. Interestingly enough, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow pointed out in a 2015 interview with Empire that a scene involving Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt) depicted them running across the Stegoceratops in a forest, but was unfortunately cut from the film. The supposed scene would have also set up Dr. Wu in another subplot of secrecy, which could still play out in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM. “In an earlier draft there was a scene where Chris and Claire come across another hybrid in the jungle. It informed them that Dr. Wu has been making other hybrids under her nose. Then my six-year-old son watched Return Of The Jedi, and said to me, 'Dad, if Leia is also a Jedi that means that Luke isn't unique.' It was like, 'Ha! Okay.' And for some reason I applied that to this other thing and felt like there could be only one hybrid dinosaur. The idea that there was more than one made it feel less like the one synthetic among all the other organics, and suddenly it seemed entirely wrong to have it in the movie. I suddenly hated the idea but the toy still exists as a kind of remnant because Hasbro toys are locked a year out.” What's interesting about Trevorrow's comments is that he initially thought of having other hybrids being thrown into the mix. Regardless of them not making it into the cinematic cut of the film, they were intended to be introduced at some point. Could The Stegaceratops Appear In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? In light of Trevorrow's comments, there's a reasonable chance hybrids like the Stegoceratops can still appear somewhere down the line, especially after Trevorrow tweeted a mysterious image of Bayona alongside a dinosaur's stretched out jaw. Could this be a new kind of hybrid dinosaur get prepared to terrorize Owen and Claire? Speculation aside, the notion of a new hybrid being revealed could give way to a varied group of hybrids also entering the fold in the upcoming sequel. Plans to include the Stegoceratops and other hidden species in the original JURASSIC WORLD movie add further evidence to that claim. All things said, it'll be interesting to see if more hybrid species are going to be introduced or not. A variety of hybrids would make for more interesting interactions since we've seen just about every normal dinosaur encounter one another and humans. Not only that, but JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is going to need something to stand out from its predecessor and a whole subplot involving secret hybrids would be an ideal fit.     What To Remember About The Jurassic Park Characters

    Get Tickets JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION opens June 10th With the release of the highly-anticipated JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION not all that far off, you are probably seeing trailers on the internet, on TV, and before all your favorite movies at AMC Theatres. And while there are some of us who have an annual tradition of watching Steven Spielberg’s 1993 summer blockbuster — and reading Michael Crichton’s landmark novel on which it is based — there’s a good chance some have forgotten a lot of the specifics concerning the JURASSIC PARK characters, what they did on Isla Nublar, and what they went through in subsequent films. Below is a quick rundown of some of the major JURASSIC PARK characters who will be showing up in JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION so that you can go into the movie with a refreshed memory. Alan Grant Was A Respected Paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, played by Sam Neill, was front and center in JURASSIC PARK, and a character who went through perhaps the biggest change by the time the survivors escaped Isla Nublar and the credits rolled. When we first met the passionate yet no-nonsense paleontologist, he was in the middle of one of his biggest discoveries yet: the fully-intact velociraptor fossil in the badlands of Montana. But then adventure came calling. One of three experts summoned by Dr John Hammond, played by the late Richard Attenborough, Dr. Grant was called upon to offer his support for the park and sign off on what InGen had achieved there. With an understanding and love of dinosaurs unmatched by his peers, there was no better person to support Jurassic Park than the respected paleontologist. Ellie Sattler Specialized In Paleobotany Dr. Ellie Sattler, portrayed by Laura Dern, was another expert brought to Isla Nublar for an early tour of the soon-to-open Jurassic Park, but instead of specializing in the dinosaurs, her expertise was paleobotany, essentially the study of fossilized plants. Though transfixed by the sight of the massive dinosaurs in the park, Sattler wasn’t one to let the wonder — or her emotions — get the best of her, as seen multiple times when pointing out InGen’s lack of understanding when it came to decisions, specifically the plant choices, made at the park. On top of that, Sattler rose to the occasion multiple times throughout JURASSIC PARK in that she helped restore power — and outrun a pack of raptors — and was the voice of reason in John Hammond’s ear when the delusional park founder believed the issues at the park were only temporary. Ian Malcolm Specialized In Chaos Theory If there was one person in JURASSIC PARK who was convinced the whole operation was doomed to fail, it was Dr. Ian Malcolm. The chaos-theorist played by Jeff Goldblum hated being right even though his assumptions and predictions came true most of the time. A constant thorn in the side of John Hammond, Malcolm was a grating, egotistical, and self-righteous mathematician at the start of the tour, but after a near-death experience with a Tyrannosaurus Rex, his demeanor changed. Ian Malcolm Went To Isla Sorna In The Lost World: Jurassic Park Several years after cheating death in JURASSIC PARK, Ian Malcolm, much more mature and less cocky, was summoned by John Hammond once more. But instead of seeking a glowing endorsement this time, Hammond asked that old thorn-in-his-side to travel to Isla Sorna, the “Site B” of Jurassic Park to document the animals to prevent the new powers that be at InGen from making the same mistake he made in the past. With a small team, including his girlfriend Dr. Sarah Harding, played by Julianne Moore, Malcolm explored the island and discovered that not only was InGen creating a new park, they were planning to take the dinosaurs off the island and open a new park in San Diego. As was the case with its predecessor, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK showed what can happen when man shows no respect for science or nature. Alan Grant Was Tricked Into Landing On Isla Sorna In Jurassic Park III Dr. Alan Grant got to see Isla Sorna for himself in JURASSIC PARK III, but he was sent there under false pretenses. Following the events of the Jurassic Park disaster, Grant’s fascination with velociraptors became an obsession as he began to better understand their intellect and social awareness, even though no one really believed him. But then Grant got the chance of a lifetime: give a wealthy couple an aerial tour of Isla Sorna and receive a sizable donation to fund his research. When it was far too late, Grant discovered that not only were the couple not as rich as they put on, but they planned on landing on the island to find their missing son who was last seen off the coast weeks earlier. Together, the family, their hired hands, Grant, and his assistant explored the mysterious island, where the respected paleontologist’s theories on the raptors were proven right, but he would have to make it off Isla Sorna before he could prove his case. Ellie Sattler Called In Support For Alan Grant In Jurassic Park III Some point after the events of JURASSIC PARK, Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant broke up and went their separate ways and the former became a children’s writer. Despite this, it is evident when the pair met again in JURASSIC PARK III that she still cared very deeply about Grant both personally and professionally. And even though Sattler didn’t go with Grant to Isla Sorna later in the movie, she came through big when she used her husband’s connections at the United States State Department to call in support for Grant and the other survivors when things went south on the island. Henry Wu Was The Lead Geneticist Behind Cloning Program Dr. Henry Wu, played by B.D. Wong, was the lead InGen geneticist behind the cloning program that would give birth to Jurassic Park. Although he’s only in one scene in the JURASSIC PARK movie, Wu is a major player in Michael Crichton’s novel of the same name. An instrumental figure behind the scenes of Hammond’s ambitious plan, Wu didn’t have the same level of respect for his creations as some of the other scientists and specialists. Wu would later return to the franchise in 2015’s JURASSIC WORLD, this time being portrayed as a man drunk on his own success, power, and ego, who has chosen not to learn from his past mistakes but instead create larger and more dangerous dinosaurs.
