With Fathom Events, we are thrilled to bring the 12th season of the Met’s Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning The Met: Live in HD series to opera lovers around the country. Each opera is broadcast live on our screens on Saturdays, followed by encore showings of the previously recorded performance on Wednesdays at 1 or 6:30 p.m. local time. In addition to the presentations, audiences will go behind the scenes with the leading artists that make the Met one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world. TOSCA Get Tickets One of five new productions this season, TOSCA rivals the splendor of Franco Zeffirelli’s Napoleonic-era sets and costumes. Sir David McVicar offers a splendid backdrop for extraordinary singing by Sonya Yoncheva, who will make her role debut as the title prima donna alongside Vittorio Grigolo and Bryn Terfel. L’ELISIR D’AMORE Get Tickets Staged by Bartlett Sher, Donizetti’s comic gem L’ELISIR D’AMORE stars Pretty Yende as the spirited Adina and Matthew Polenzani as Nemorino, the peasant who falls in love with her. Davide Luciano makes his Met debut as Adina’s arrogant fiancé, Belcore; Ildebrando D’Arcangelo sings the role of the magic-potion-peddling Doctor Dulcamara; and Domingo Hindoyan makes his company debut conducting. LA BOHÈME Get Tickets An exciting young cast leads Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production of LA BOHÈME, the most-performed opera in Met history. Sonya Yoncheva stars as Mimì, opposite of Michael Fabiano as the passionate writer Rodolfo. Susanna Phillips reprises the role of the flirtatious Musetta, and Lucas Meachem sings the role of her lover, the painter Marcello. The cast also features Alexey Lavrov and Matthew Rose as Rodolfo and Marcello’s friends, Schaunard and Colline, and Paul Plishka as Benoit and Alcindoro in this performance, led by conductor Marco Armiliato. SEMIRAMIDE Get Tickets Rossini’s SEMIRAMIDE has not been seen at the Met in 25 years, and now opera fans can watch the production for the first time in HD. Angela Meade makes her Met role debut as the title character. The opera also features Elizabeth DeShong as the Commander of the Assyrian army, Arsace; Javier Camarena as Indian king Idreno; Ildar Abdrazakov as the prince Assur; and Ryan Speedo Green as the high priest Oroe. COSÌ FAN TUTTE Get Tickets Another new production, Mozart’s comedy COSÌ FAN TUTTE welcomes acclaimed director Phelim McDermott back to the Met. Set in the 1950s on Coney Island, the cast features Amanda Majeski as the conflicted Fiordiligi; Serena Malfi as her sister, Dorabella; Tony Award-winner Kelli O’Hara as their feisty maid, Despina; Ben Bliss and Adam Plachetka as the sisters’ fiancés, Ferrando and Guglielmo; and Christopher Maltman as the cynical Don Alfonso. COSÌ FAN TUTTE is a co-production with the English National Opera and is led by David Robertson. LUISA MILLER Get Tickets For the first time in 10 years, opera lovers can watch Verdi’s rarely performed LUISA MILLER live at the Met. Plácido Domingo stars in this heart-wrenching tragedy of fatherly love. Sonya Yoncheva sings the title role opposite of Piotr Beczała. Mark your calendar for the first-ever live-in-HD performance on Saturday, April 14 at 9:30 a.m. PT or the encore showing Wednesday, April 18. CENDRILLON Get Tickets Based on the classic Cinderella, Massenet’s enchanting opera CENDRILLON premieres at the Met in April. The opera is conducted by Bertrand de Billy and directed by Laurent Pelly, whose Met credits include staging Donizetti’s LA FILLE DU RÉGIMENT and Massenet’s MANON. Joyce DiDonato adds another role to her Met repertory as the title character. The cast also features Alice Coote as Prince Charmant; Stephanie Blythe as the evil stepmother, Madame de la Haltière; Kathleen Kim as the Fée; and Laurent Naouri as Pandolfe.
