Vaughn To Helm Man of Steel 2?

The future of the DCEU is very overpopulated and uncertain at the same time. There are so many potential projects out there that it's hard to keep track of which one's are actually happening. One of the movies that was announced but fell off the radar was the sequel to 2013's Man of Steel. Fortunately, it looks like a director might be taking on the project: Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn.
Matthew Vaughn Is In Talks To Direct The Next 'Superman' Movie
We weren't sure whether or not it was still on Warner Bros.' and Dc's radar or not, but it looks like Vaughn might helm the Man Of Steel sequel. At the press junket for the upcoming action flick Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Vaughn gave us an idea of what his schedule will look like now that Kingsman is hitting theaters.
He confirmed that he is starting production on a third Kingsman film (which is totally exciting) and that he is in talks with Warner Bros. about directing the next Superman film. Here's what he had to say:
I am planning another Kingsman, I’ve written the treatment and some of the scenes…I don’t know what I’m going to do next but I have had chats about Superman. I love Superman.
Vaughn has become one of the most well-known actors in Hollywood. He is known for directing many amazing blockbusters such as Kick-Ass, both Kingsman movies, X-Men: First Class and even Stardust. He has proved to his fans that he is a fanboy just like the rest of us and that he knows how to treat the source material being used for a film with respect.
If somebody asks me to do Indiana Jones, most of the superheros or Star Wars the fanboy in me can’t help but be excited.
Personally, I would love to see Vaughn take charge and direct Man of Steel 2. While Man of Steel introduced a visually-stunning yet cold and modern version of Superman, perhaps Vaughn can put his own spin on the character. After his resurrection in Justice League, his character will never be the same and it'd be a pleasure to watch Vaughn tell the story of Superman's adventures after his inevitable return.
