Here are our most anticipated movies in 2024.

Mean Girls

The upcoming musical, MEAN GIRLS, will see a new set of faces playing iconic characters like Cady Heron, Regina George, and the rest of the Plastics when it arrives on the big screen in early 2024. An adaptation of the Broadway musical that’s based on the 2004 comedy of the same name, the movie will present the story to audiences like never before.

MEAN GIRLS opens January 12th, 2024

Dune: Part Two

After being delayed and then moved up, Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART TWO will continue the saga of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) as he attempts to unite the Fremen and Chani to enact vengeance against those who killed his father and attempted to wipe out his family. With new allies and formidable enemies, the young leader is preparing for quite a fight, one that could have long-term ramifications for himself and the rest of the galaxy.

DUNE: PART TWO opens March 1st, 2024

Deadpool 3

We don’t know much of anything about DEADPOOL 3 besides the fact that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be joining Ryan Reynolds’ sarcastic titular anti-hero in the upcoming superhero movie, but that’s reason enough to be excited for this much-talked-about summer release. Oh, and it could very well be the first R-rated MCU movie…

Remind Me DEADPOOL 3 opens July 26th, 2024

Borderlands

There have been some great video game adaptations in recent years, and it looks like that trend will continue in 2024 with the release of Eli Roth’s BORDERLANDS. Based on the first-person shooter role-playing game of the same name, the movie will star the likes of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, and others to bring those beloved and unforgettable characters to life.

Alien: Romulus

Set between the events of ALIEN and ALIENS, Fede Álvarez’s upcoming addition to the legendary horror/sci-fi franchise will serve as a standalone film that could breathe new life into the property. It’s another movie where plot details are scant at this point, but we can’t help but get excited about seeing 2023 breakout star Cailee Spaeny take on a Xenomorph in the vacuum of space.

Remind Me ALIEN: ROMULUS opens August 16th, 2024

Remind Me JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX opens October 4th, 2024

Gladiator 2

Though Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix’s characters won’t be around this time for obvious reasons, Ridley Scott’s GLADIATOR 2 sounds just as promising as its predecessor nearly a quarter-century ago. This time around, Paul Mescal will take on the role of Lucius Verus, who has grown up since watching his hero and uncle kill one another in the Coliseum all those years ago.

Remind Me GLADIATOR 2 opens November 22nd, 2024

Wicked: Part One

MEAN GIRLS isn’t the only Broadway adaptation on the 2024 movie calendar, as Jon M. Chu will give us his interpretation of the beloved musical, WICKED, or at least the first part, before the end of the year. Starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and others, this dazzling story of how the Wicked Witch of the West becomes so devilish, and green, is one we don’t plan on missing.

WICKED: PART ONE opens November 27th, 2024

Sonic The Hedgehog 3

Christmas will come a few days early for video game fans, as Jeff Fowler’s SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 will land in theaters shortly before the big holiday.
