Imagine a job where you get to enjoy free movies, food discounts and fun times with other movie people. Sounds like a dream, right? That's exactly what we offer at AMC, and with a variety of positions — from crew and management, to dine in and behind the bar — there are opportunities for everyone.
Don't just take our word for it. Keep on reading to learn more about working at AMC from a few of our happy and helpful theatre associates.
A Day in the Life
Our people are what make our moviegoing experience so special. Regardless of position, everyone's top priority at AMC is our guests. A typical day may look different for crew leaders and cooks, but we all share the responsibility of making sure our guests are taken care of. That means providing friendly and prompt service, keeping a clean environment, and problem solving when needed.
"My favorite part about my job is being able to work together with this amazing, supportive crew and management team in order to provide a quality experience for our guests," said Daniella Fernandez, crew leader and bartender at Santa Monica 7. "We always find a way to have fun while working, and being able share that fun and laughter with our guests is very precious."
Skills That Support Your Goals
In addition to great perks, AMC aims to provide our associates with skills they can use not only in the theatre environment, but anywhere their career may take them. Ashley Pintello, crew leader at Firewheel 18, wants to become an actress after she graduates, and she credits AMC with helping her improve her social skills by interacting with diverse people. It doesn't hurt that she can "do research" by watching the newest movies for free!
Fernandez, who hopes to keep moving up in the company, agreed that interacting one on one with individuals from all walks of life is helping her prepare for what's next. "The experiences I have gained here at AMC have broadened my understanding of many different individuals, and how to properly communicate with them, all while keeping a smile or putting a smile on their face," she said.
Another great benefit we offer our employees is flexible schedules. We understand some of our associates have more than one job and/or attend school, and we do our best to accommodate them. Vance Jones, bartender at Rio Cinemas 18, also works as a teacher during the day. "I'd always wanted to work at the cinema, but I hadn't found a role that was a good fit," he said. "When the bartender position was listed, I knew I'd found that fit."
Pintello, who has worked at AMC for roughly two and a half years, said she has stayed at AMC because her general manager is lenient with her hours, "which is very helpful since I am still in high school and very involved with my theatre department. Not only that, but I love the environment. AMC has become my home."

Daniella Fernandez: "I think others should work at AMC for many reasons. For one, the support here is outstanding. If you have any questions or concerns, you will be given an answer. If you want to move up, you are given the support and the tools necessary to. If you are in school or if this is your first job, you are gaining an array of skills, like cleaning, communication, problem solving and organizing. These are all skills that you can take with you for the rest of your life. No matter how long you work at AMC, it will leave a memorable impression, not only on the skills you've gained, but on your heart from the supportive crew and management who want to see you reach your goals. Every day working for AMC has helped me become a better version of myself, and I know that AMC will do the same for others."
