As September begins, and as the start of Hispanic Heritage Month -- September 15th through October 15th -- approaches, AMC Theatres has plenty of options for moviegoers to enjoy. Some fantastic films that exemplify Latin American excellence are coming to the big screen. We're here to talk about two of them that visitors of AMC Theatres must see – ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE and SATANIC HISPANICS.
These movies bring Latinx perspectives to the forefront and deliver stories that will surely captivate audiences. The Council on the AMC Latinx Experience is excited to promote these two movies an an effort to celebrate Latinx representation across film.
Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe
ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE is a coming-of-age movie that takes place in New Mexico in 1987, and is based on the book of the same name by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. It follows a romance between two Mexican-American boys who find each other while at the community pool and become friends during the 1980s.
The movie stars Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales in the lead roles of Aristotle and Dante, and features a story that will surely captivate the audience from the moment it begins. The movie is directed by Aitch Alberto, who has also worked on films such as HARA KIRI and several film shorts.
In the trailer for ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE, we get a look at the start of this friendship and romance, which includes the two boys' first meeting – which is just the beginning of their story. This is also followed by several moments where we see the boys out during their daily lives, such as going to the pool, writing letters back and forth to each other, and so much more.
This looks to be the coming-of-age story that lovers of cinema today would love to see, and it won't be long before the film arrives in theaters.

Satanic Hispanics
With a name like SATANIC HISPANICS, moviegoers can expect a wild ride of a horror movie – or, in fact, five horror stories within one film. SATANIC HISPANICS is an anthology of five stories within the movie, told by five different Latin filmmakers.
The film focuses on a police raid in El Paso, where they discover only one person who has survived a massacre of dead Latinos. He calls himself "The Traveler," and when he is taken into police custody, he tells the stories of his life set in different worlds, with monsters, demons, and other legends of Latin America that are sure to haunt audiences everywhere.
The movie features several talented actors, including Greg Grunberg, Efren Ramirez, Jacob Vargas, Patricia Velasquez, Hemky Madera, Luis Machin, Demian Salomon, Jonah Ray Rodrigues, and Ari Allegos. The trailer for the film shows all of these actors in action, previewing some of the creepy stories that horror fans will get to see.
Fans got their first look at "The Traveler," one of the exciting characters in SATANIC HISPANICS, who has stepped into other portals to see different worlds. If the police don't let him go, then everyone will die. This premise is sure to entice any horror lover to head to the theatre.
SATANIC HISPANICS opens September 14
With these two movies releasing soon and Hispanic Heritage Month taking place between September 15th and October 15th, movie lovers will want to head to their local AMC Theatre to check them out as quickly as possible.

Satanic Hispanics
