Marvel Heroes We Hope to See in Avengers: Endgame
AVENGERS: ENDGAME is being teased as the biggest movie Marvel Studios has ever produced. It’s the culmination of a story that started in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, and it’s expected to feature every hero we’ve met, to date, in the MCU. But why not blow the audience’s doors off with some total surprise cameos?
We already believe that Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will play a significant role in the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin) in AVENGERS: ENDGAME. And we think that the MCU members who “dusted” will somehow come back, aligning with surviving members like Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) to reverse what Thanos accomplished.
But what if, in the process of reversing Thanos’ lethal snap, the Marvel heroes find a way to introduce some new faces to the mix? This could set the stage for new stories in Marvel’s Phase Four, using ENDGAME as a platform to bring fresh heroes into the fold. Some of these make sense. Others are long shots. But here are some left-of-center guesses of characters we think could show up in AVENGERS: ENDGAME and help bring Thanos to justice.
Valkyrie
Was Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) killed on the Asgardian ship when Thanos wiped out most of Thor’s people? Did she somehow live to fight another day? We will know soon, because if that warrior is anywhere in the galaxy, she needs to return to Thor’s side and help the God of Thunder avenge all of the people we lost, simply because he failed to go “for the head.”
Stakar Ogord and His Ravagers
A surprise addition to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, Stakar was played by Sylvester Stallone and had a connection to the late Yondu (Michael Rooker). If the rumors are true that ENDGAME is going to feature basically every character we have ever seen in the MCU, then the star-studded team led by Sly at the end of GUARDIANS 2 could show up to protect Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his crew.
Nova
The Nova Corp was damaged when Thanos retrieved the Power Stone off screen in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. It’s explained, in passing, that he ventured to Xandar before INFINITY WAR started and already possessed the Power Stone by the time we entered the story. So, what if the Nova Corp’s most famous fighter, Nova, was born from that conflict and shows up in ENDGAME looking to join the fight against Thanos in retaliation for what happened to his home city?
She-Hulk
The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will go through a transformation in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, which is good, because right now he’s on the sidelines, scared to face the powerful Thanos after the butt-whipping he took in INFINITY WAR. What if, in the process of Hulk’s evolution, we’re also introduced to another character — She-Hulk — who can carry the gamma-ray-enhanced baton for Marvel in Phase Four?
Ghost Rider
The rights to several key Marvel characters are reverting back to the studio, thanks to deals the studio is making. Who better to show up in a vengeance flick like AVENGERS: ENDGAME than the supernatural spirit of vengeance, Johnny Blaze? The world will seek vengeance against Thanos after he snapped half of civilization away. Could Ghost Rider roar into action to help with the clean up?
The Fantastic Four
One of the oldest and most beloved teams in Marvel history is coming home to Marvel Studios after the Disney and Fox deal goes through. A tease to the FF in AVENGERS: ENDGAME makes sense, even if the key roles haven’t been cast yet. A suggestion that they are part of the fabric of Phase Four alone would excite fans who want to see these characters (as well as the X-Men) get the proper MCU treatment. Maybe their origin story begins in April?
We will know all of this soon enough, as AVENGERS: ENDGAME arrives in theatres on April 26.
