It isn’t every day when a timeless, and raucous, comedy like BLAZING SADDLES goes on to inspire an animated feature film nearly 50 years after the fact, but that’s the world we live in. Loosely based on Mel Brooks’ 1974 meta comedy western, the family-friendly martial arts comedy, PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK, will be released in AMC Theatres nationwide in July.

But before you run to the ticket counter and jump in line for one of the most promising family films coming to movie houses in Summer 2022, you should get to know some of the main characters and the famous actors, comedians, and celebrities who bring those fearsome cats and dogs to life. And while we won’t go over every famous name set to appear in the movie, we’ve got enough to get you started on this wild and crazy journey.

Michael Cera as Hank

Leading off the PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK cast is Michael Cera, who provides the voice of the movie’s titular beagle who dreams of one day becoming the samurai. Although mostly remembered for performances in comedy shows and movies like “Arrested Development” and SUPERBAD, Cera has a great deal of experience in the voice-acting world, having appeared in a number of different animated projects throughout his career.

The first movie that comes to mind when thinking about Cera’s voice-work is surely THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, in which the comedic-actor portrayed Richard “Dick” Grayson, aka Robin, a role he would also reprise in the short film COOKING WITH ALFRED. Cera has also appeared in animated films like SAUSAGE PARTY and CRYPTOZOO.

Throughout his career, Cera has also provided his voice for shows including “Braceface,” “The Berenstain Bears,” “Childrens Hospital,” and “The Simpsons.”
