July 19th, 2019Isabela Moner's Journey to The Lost City of Gold

In DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD, audiences will see Nickelodeon's famed explorer in a way they’ve never seen her before: in live action! Bringing the young adventure seeker to life is star Isabela Moner, who you probably recognize from some of her most recent, high-profile works. With THE LOST CITY OF GOLD only weeks away, we’d like to take the time to catch you up on Moner’s relatively brief, but incredibly busy career so far.

After getting her start on Broadway in the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famed musical "Evita," Isabela Moner started her film career with a role in THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT in 2013.

This performance would lead to work in both film and TV, which ironically enough would lead to her first brush with the DORA franchise. Voicing Kate, one of Dora’s friends, in the show "Dora and Friends: Into the City!," Moner was about to find her big break not too long after her run on that series.

She became a staple in the Nickelodeon universe, as she would go on to secure roles in the TV show "100 Things to Do Before High School," as well as original film SPLITTING ADAM and the TV-movie adaptation of LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE.

It was her casting in Michael Bay’s TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT that saw her explode in popularity, as her character, Izabella, was seen fighting in a world of Autobots and Decepticons alongside Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Hopkins. The 2017 release would also set her up to work with Wahlberg again in 2018, in the family-comedy INSTANT FAMILY, which debuted the same year Moner also landed a pivotal role in SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO.

Which brings us to today, where Isabela Moner is about to take young thrill seekers on an adventure to save her parents and find a lost city in DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD! Now in the wilderness of high school, Dora might need her exploring skills to help her navigate the change of scenery — they'll definitely assist her in leading her fellow students to safety, after they’re all apprehended by villainous forces to complete the work her parents started in locating a treasure beyond measure.
