Remind Me JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 opens March 24, 2023

“To think. It all started because of a puppy.”

Those were the poetic words of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 star Keanu Reeves as he reminded the audiences at CinemaCon 2022 the true motivations that push his lethal assassin to go after the men and women trying to take him out. Reeves discovered an unexpected hit and franchise launcher with JOHN WICK in 2014, when criminals broke into his home and executed his beloved dog. Big mistake. From that moment forward, Wick hasn’t stopped seeking vengeance, climbing up a ladder of conspiracy that has made up four JOHN WICK movies, so far.

The next installment, titled JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4, will deliver what Lionsgate executives described as “a rampage of magnificent revenge and escalating action brought to life in a profoundly unique fashion.” Remaining in the series’ director’s chair this time will be Chad Stahelski, who met Keanu Reeves back in 1998 when both men were part of the team bringing THE MATRIX to life. Stahelski, at that time, was one of the film industry’s leading stunt coordinators and stunt performers. Now he choreographs incredible stunt sequences for the JOHN WICK movies, putting Reeves on horseback, behind the wheel of Mustangs, or pointing guns at all types of antagonists as he fights to survive.

Keanu Reeves talked about his partnership with Chad Stahelski when he told the CinemaCon audience, “It is an honor to build these stories with you and our incredible team, creating a mythical character that ultimately is a celebration of fight choreography, balletic action, and storytelling that can only happen through a movie.”

When the third JOHN WICK movie ended, our hero had been declared excommunicado by The High Table, a sort of Supreme Court for the criminal underworld. A bounty was placed on John Wick’s head, and he turned to the only person left on the planet he could trust: The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne).

The trailer that was shown at CinemaCon picked up with The King preparing John Wick for the battle ahead. The assassin was training by punching a pole with his fist until his hands bled. The Bowery King, meanwhile, presented Wick with a new suit. “I’m going to kill them all,” John Wick whispered. And from what we have seen in the previous three JOHN WICK films, we have zero doubt of the man’s intentions.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 looks like the most epic installment in the popular franchise to date. The myth of John Wick will expand once the movie hits AMC Theatres in 2023.
